Round MCD Diamond Blanks
Round monocrystalline diamond (MCD) blanks manufactured from high-quality HPHT synthetic single crystal diamond with controlled <100> crystal orientation.
These diamond blanks are widely used for manufacturing precision cutting tools, diamond turning tools, dressing tools, engraving tools and custom diamond inserts. Compared with polycrystalline diamond (PCD), MCD offers a continuous single-crystal structure that enables extremely sharp cutting edges and excellent surface finish performance.
Standard sizes are available from stock, and custom dimensions can be manufactured according to drawings or tool design requirements.

Why Use MCD Diamond?
Monocrystalline diamond contains no grain boundaries, allowing the cutting edge to be sharpened to an extremely fine geometry.
Compared with polycrystalline diamond materials, MCD is often selected when surface finish quality, edge sharpness and dimensional accuracy are more important than impact resistance.
| Material | Typical Advantage |
|---|---|
| MCD (Monocrystalline Diamond) | Ultra-sharp cutting edge and superior surface finish |
| PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) | Higher toughness and wear resistance for interrupted cutting |
For ultra-precision machining applications, MCD remains one of the preferred tool materials.
